Intelligent and hard-edged with two female front persons/guitar players, Ellen James Society was the cream of the indie crop during the early-nineties. This is a band with a unique sound that knows how to write a great pop hook while still being true to its underground sensibilities. It was a sad day when Ellen James Society finally disbanded. You can hear the inevitable implosion when you listen to their music, which still lives on.

The very energy that caused this band to implode served to create unforgettable music. Ellen James Society is a legend of the Atlanta indie scene. This band was a labor of love fronted by two equally talented women who explored every facet of their musical world.
