"Big
Fish Ensemble may be the best low-profile band in the country.
Intelligent wit and musicianship distinguishes this group."
- Indie File
Today
Big Fish Ensemble achieved statehood. This monumental achievement
was celebrated nationwide with the release of the band's fourth
CD, "State Bird of Big Fish Ensemble." The story of
Big Fish Ensemble's rise to statehood is one of dazzling success.
The was founded in 1989, and released three sensational albums
on Atlanta's Long Play label. Despite national critical acclaim,
according to The Trouser Press Guide to 90's Rock, the band remained
"one of the best relatively unknown pop bands in America."
Tired
of being "relatively unknown," Big Fish Ensemble decided
to take matters into their own hands. Drummer Michael Lorant quickly
gathered BFE into action. Armed with a small cache of weapons
and ammunition which had been collected over years of touring
in stinky dives by guitarist Paul Schwartz, the group quickly
laid claim to a fertile piece of land near Greenland and Texas.
In amaneuver of unprecedented genius, the band reinforced its
borders with giant speakers and played the majestic "Here
Comes Trouble" until hostile forces laid down their arms
and joined the statehood party. Violinist Shela Doyle was elected
as the state's first Governor by a landslide. Already pundits
are speculating that her campaign promise to break the Guinness
Book of World Records by playing "Khosid Wedding Dance"
41,000 consecutive times will not be honored because of the bands
gigs scheduled throughout the winter and spring. Ms Doyle refused
comment.
